When 'tonguing' quarter notes, think of  saying "tu".

Your embouchure must be firm to make pleasant sounds! Think of the letters " E  -  M  -  P"  to properly form your lips. Your air supply comes from way down in your abdomen (lower stomach muscles). Use plenty of air!

When 'tonguing' quarter notes, think of saying "tah" for "F" and lower notes, "tee" for "G" and higher notes.

Drummers

Hand positions on sticks are important! Be sure that the tops of your hands are facing up, and that your sticks form an upside-down "V" shape when prepared to play.

Quarter notes should be played  by alternating hands - R - L - R - L .. and so on. Eighth notes should be "double tapped" - two taps per stick.
